Edwards Psychiatry does not bill insurance or receive payment from insurance directly.
Due to restrictions/regulations inherent in the U.S. health insurance system, Edwards Psychiatry is out-of-network with all insurance providers and accepts the following self-pay methods: cash, check, or credit/debit cards (including HSA/FSA).
The billing process is to self-pay first, and then we will provide you with a superbill (essentially an itemized receipt) of services rendered that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
Under the No Surprises Act, prior to receiving services, all patients of Edwards Psychiatry will receive a "Good Faith Estimate" in their intake paperwork detailing the estimated cost of care. Should your final financial responsibility exceed this estimate by $400 or more, you have a right to dispute the charges.
I believe all people are inherently worthy of high-quality care, and I am especially passionate about "going to bat" for marginalized and vulnerable groups.
I compassionately listen with understanding and life experience that cannot be taught, and also uniquely utilize humor to put patients at ease.
I intentionally do not treat patients like a textbook, and want every patient to feel continuously seen, heard, and safe.
